Community Involvement

An advocate for environmental preservation, Walt Hull joined the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) to help fulfill its long-term mission to the community. The stated purpose of the CCA is to advise and educate the public on conservation of marine resources. The objective of CCA is to conserve, promote and enhance the present and future availability of these coastal resources for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public.

One of Walt's most frequented hobbies is hunting throughout the southern region of the United States. As a result he is a member of the National Rifle Association. Formed in 1871, the main goal of the National Rifle Association is to promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis.

In addition to his recreational memberships, Walter also finds gratification in supporting local non-profit organizations like Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, Capital Area United Way and the American Heart Association.  Walt believes it is his responsibility to support organizations like these that everyday are helping others to live healthier and happier lives.  The mission of Cancer Services is to serve the tangible needs of people living with cancer in the Greater Baton Rouge area.  Capital Area United Way serves a 10-parish area around Baton Rouge and mobilizes its community for change by addressing current problems in education, health, and income; and thereby working with its volunteers and partner agencies to create lasting impacts.  The American Heart Association strives hard to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
